German copper, cast iron and (mercury) glass industrial light
Description: All original German late 1800’s early 1900’s industrial pendant light originates from a church in Zeist The Netherlands. The light is constructed out of a heavy cast iron top with porcelain conductor to the chain, one porcelain cable outlet (one is missing), a red copper shade with within it a thick mercury mirrored glass bowl and a satinated glass bowl bottom with stunning braided steel wire.
Most of these lights were used as street lanterns suspended by a wire in the middle of the streets and haven’t survived the outdoor elements. This light was used indoors and has therefor been preserved wonderfully. Very rare item especially in this condition.
