Huge bauhaus two tone Peter Behrens globe pendant light by Siemens & Schuckert
Description: Beautiful 1920’s German Bauhaus pendant light, the two tone glass globe is held by a metal ring chained to a brass gallery.
We offer various examples of old luzettes produced and marketed by Siemens & Schuckert in the early 1900’s. This pendant is the only one of this kind we’ve ever seen in this size. It resembles the smaller two tone globes by Siemens & Schuckert hanging in the Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam World Unesco Herritage.
These type of lights are designed by famous German architect and designer Peter Behrens who is best known for his architectural and product designs of AEG Berlin and for being the preceptor of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Charles-Edouard Jeanneret (le corbusier) and Walter Gropius.
