Pair of bauhaus 2 tone globe pendant lights by Siemens & Schuckert from the van nelle factory

Description: Beautiful pair of 1920’s German Bauhaus pendant lights, the two tone glass globes are held by nickel plated brass galleries.

We offer various examples of old luzettes produced and marketed by Siemens & Schuckert in the early 1900’s. This set of pendants originates from the Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam (UNESCO world heritage). We bought these lights from former employees, when the factory closed they were invited to take a pair home.  Unfortunately the former owner had the socket of one of the lights fall trough the glass leaving it badly damaged. All the pieces have been glued back in place but the damage is visible both on and off. Due to the provenance we can not throw this glass away, and of course we are searching for an original replacement.

These type of lights are designed by famous German architect and designer Peter Behrens who is best known for his architectural and product designs of AEG Berlin and for being the preceptor of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Charles-Edouard Jeanneret (le corbusier) and Walter Gropius.
