Huge bauhaus two tone Peter Behrens luzette pendant light by Siemens & Schuckert 50cm diameter

Description: Beautiful 1920’s German Bauhaus pendant light, constructed out of 2 individual pieces of glass held together by a metal ring and gallery joined by 3 rods.

We offer various examples of old luzettes produced and marketed by Siemens & Schuckert in the early 1900’s. This particular pendant is extremely rare due to its size, half a meter in diameter is the largest versi0n ever produced.

These tupe of lights are designed by famous German architect and designer Peter Behrens who is best known for his architectural and product designs of AEG Berlin, designing and building his own house and for being the preceptor of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Charles-Edouard Jeanneret (le corbusier) and Walter Gropius. And thats just a small part of Behrens’s incredible career.

Condition: In beautiful minimalistically restored original condition. Small chip at the bottom rim of the top glass (secured in place).
