Antique large bauhaus Peter Behrens luzette pendant light with very rare clear top glass
Description: Beautiful 1920’s German Bauhaus Pendant light, constructed out of 2 individual pieces of glass held together by a metal ring and gallery. This particular example has a rarely seen clear top glass (with makers mark) and etched bottom glass.
This light is designed by famous German architect and designer Peter Behrens. Behrens is best known for his architectural work and product designs for AEG Berlin, designing and building his own house and for being the preceptor of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Charles-Edouard Jeanneret (le corbusier) and Walter Gropius.
The lights we offer are rare examples of old Luzettes and have been produced and marketed by Siemens & Schuckert in the 1920’s
